A Flashback: [ ACL 2013, Austin, TX weekend 2 ]

My first experience at ACL was AWESOME. I honestly had no idea i was going to go to begin with. Since ACL costs a ton from my budget i wasn't planning to go and as Friday went by i was loosing hope. A quick small description of what ACL is, is that it's a festival that occurs at Austin, Tx every year around the month of October. It is known to have really good bands and big ones as well (for example this year we had Kings of Leon, The Cure, Vampire Weekend, Kendrick Lamar, and Lionel Richie). I was loosing hope of attending until me and a friend from my college Stats class started to talk about how badly we wanted to go. To cut things short, we found people who sold us tickets to get in both days! ( Saturday and Sunday). Full of excitement we were and since it was our first ever ACL concert we didn't know what to expect but what we should've expected was INTENSE TEXAS heat. But after i was really glad i went and got to experience this my first year living here in the best city in the world for music.
So we begin here first, we saw "Walk The Moon", They are incredibly awesome live. Check them out!

OKAY lets take a moment to enjoy how amazing the background is! The scenery of this photo was fantastic of downtown Austin in the background. This picture was a fail but i still love it so much!

Really pretty skies! It was a really beautiful hot day in October.

If you never been here at Austin i recommend to try "The Mighty Cone". Its an amazing delicious taco in a unique cone.

Walking around looking at great art and food stands.

PASSION PIT! I was really excited to see them and of course they were really great live. I enjoyed their set here is a short video of "Take A Walk".

Lights. Lights. Lights.

A great way to end the night. See You next year ACL!

Dear Ladies and Gents, What my night consists of. Swatches.

Swatches. Swatches. Swatches. A little bit of procrastination and a little bit of exhaustion i am having tonight doing cards for my textiles class. BUT i suppose it is somewhat fun learning every fabric, yarn, and material there is to know to make fabulous clothing. I learned that there is Plain weaves, Rib weaves, Basket weaves, Twill weaves, Satin weaves, Applied designs, ( WAIT THERES MORE!!!!) Jacquard weaves, Double Cloth weaves, Pique weaves, Leno weaves, Pile weaves, non-wovens ( AM I BORING YOU YET OR?) Dobby weaves, warp and weft Knits . I think i left out a few but by now you probably get the point that there is so much to know about one simple fabric such as the amount of yarns effect the strength and drape or the twist on a yarn determines how strong it is. Did you know that if you bleach fabric it weakens it and it is called Tendering? I am kind of enjoying doing this at 1:00 in the morning but perhaps for my break i shall pull out the sketchbook and work for a few more projects.

Oldies but Goodies.

I was pulling out my sketch book and here was some old work of mine. I love looking through old drawings and sketches because it motivates me to keep drawing, here are some of my favorites throughout this sketchbook that my boyfriend got me for my birthday. Some I got a few inspiration off other people and sometimes well boredom eats me alive so i manage to come out a little creative ( as you can see i have a little obsession over skulls). The pens i use are usually micron of all sizes ( I just use the black ink ), Nano-liner permanent markers, and extra fine precise V5 pens.

Something Plaid.

Something is trendy right now and you probably already guessed it. There are various ways to dress in plaid. You can go for the city-chic look with a beanie and those high waisted shorts, "classy" in a nice plaid long pencil shirt with gold jewelry, perhaps a watch ( got to have that bling right?) or maybe keeping it "casual" with a plaid shirt and a blazer for those chilly fall days. Another way could be that winter look with a plaid coat and keeping it warm with a scarf. A bright red plaid coat just screams out warmth doesn't it?

Early Hello To Holidays.

Funny, short story I had went shopping the other day and I was "suppose" to look for an outfit for Thanksgiving. Turns out I had found one for Christmas Eve Or New Years Eve. Not going to complain though, this dress is gorgeous and it fits my style perfectly. I did not plan having it with black tights and combat boots but when i saw this photo i thought it made it
look a little edgy but elegant at the same time,
so it's another cool way to wear this dress.
After all it is cold in December. :-)

What starts here changes the world.

I have started this year as a college freshman at The University Of Texas Austin. My first semester has been full of adventures and life-long memories. To this point it has been amazing!
I have met new people, explored Austin, and
started to focus on what really is important...
my dream.
